I decided to reconsider. I'm giving myself a week. I have an appointment next week to go to the reading specialist to do the intake. I'm reconsidering. I think I am now going to file for Mediation. If I get the services on my own dime, I'll HAVE to go to Hearing to recoup the $$$. I think I'd rather give it one more shot, but an OFFICIAL shot. There is an organization here on LI that is funded to help parents USE Mediation, since it's a Due Process method that is underused. It works best if both the parent and the District are willing to negotiate. I am, but I'm not sure how much. Hopefully, that is what Mediation will help with. Since last year, it's been possible to file for Mediation without first requesting a Hearing. That's what I think I'm going to do. Once I figure this out, I'll let you guys know.Good luck.
How's it going with the 10 day notice? I don't want to be nosey just wondering how things are going. Also I remember you talking about you son getting a little anxious on the bus because he had to be home alone for a little after school. Does he feel better about that now?
